Crathie Opportunity Holidays is hosting an Open Day on this Saturday (Saturday 16th July 2011) to celebrate the completion of a 2 month refurbishment programme on its holiday cottages, which are specially designed to cater for people with all types of disabilities.
The charity, which has been running since 2002, is situated on the banks of the River Dee near Balmoral. Each of the 4 cottages at the complex is fully equipped to the highest possible standard for people with disabilities. The refurbishment has allowed Crathie Opportunity Holidays to mix functionality with design to offer the perfect package. Interior designer, Mikhail Pietranek, was commissioned by the charity to undertake the work and it is hoped the Open Day will raise awareness of the charity and showcase its cottages, to let people see, first hand, how people with disabilities can enjoy a holiday, like everyone else.
The Open Day will run from 12noon – 4pm and everyone is welcome. To help celebrate, Crathie Opportunity Holidays is running a competition on the day to win 3 nights accommodation at the complex. Sheila Harrison, Chairman of Crathie Opportunity Holidays commented: “we are looking forward to welcoming people to our Open Day and showing them, first hand, how we are giving people with disabilities an opportunity have a holiday in comfort with all the facilities they need and an experience of a lifetime.”
